The interior of the Gas RMU is completely insulated with SF6 gas and protected by a stainless steel casing.

The gas RMU can be operated manually using ETR2H self powered protection relay, or automatically/electrically using ETR304/306 multi circuit relay, which can perform metering, monitoring, recording, and communication.

Gas RMU has undergone comprehensive type testing by certified laboratories such as CESI and KERI in accordance with international standards IEC 62271-100102103 and 200.

What is RMU, Ring Main Unit

Ring main unit (RMU) is a fully sealed SF6 gas or other insulating material, and Rockwill's RMU is a gas insulated compact switchgear.

The ring main unit or RMU can be combined in at least three ways. A switch device can be an isolating switch or a fused isolating switch or circuit breaker (VCB or GCB).

Usually, a circuit breaker is a switching device, which can be a vacuum circuit breaker or a gas circuit breaker, etc. It is always equipped with protective relays, and it is a very basic self powered or more advanced type with communication capabilities.

The rated voltage and current range of RMU typically reach 40.5 kV and 630 A, respectively.
